How to Begin Creating Effective Website Traffic

Eight Things You Must Do If You Want to Have a

Working E-Commerce Website

By B Hopkins

E-commerce is a growing strategy that more and more businesses are realizing is necessary to have as part of their business model.  Unfortunately, it can be a complicated solution that requires knowledge of many back-end functional components that most entrepreneurs aren't familiar with. This article will discuss the specific components that are required to create an ecommerce web site.  It will discuss what the components are, and what they do.

1. Sign up with a quality web hosting provider.

Choose a web hosting provider that gives you at least one SQLdatabase, and can do server side scripting, such as SHTML, PHP,and/or CGI scripting. You want a service that will give you at least 300Mb of space, and will give you at least 5 email accounts if possible. If you can afford it, you should request your own IP address, so you don't have to share your IP address with lots of other website owners, some of who could be spammers.  It only costs a few dollars extra to obtain your own IP address in most cases anyway.

2. Use a good shopping cart.

The shopping cart is used to keep track of your visitors' desired purchases. In order to serve a multiple number of visitors, your shopping cart needs to do the following:

  1. Allow multiple simultaneous users.
  2. Keep a running total of the costs.
  3. Finalize the order. Sometimes a shopping cart is located on the same server as your web site, and sometimes it is located on a different server altogether.  There are usually many reasons for doing both.

3. Create a good database

The database is usually kept on the same server as your e-commerce site.  This will usually mean that you will need to get a hosting plan that gives you a database.  SQL is a typical database that comes with many hosting accounts. The database is usually used to:

  1. Keep customer data
  2. Create customer personalization
  3. Keep product data
  4. Hold shopping cart contents
  5. Integrate with other systems

4. Accept credit cards.

You will want the ability to accept credit cards. Sure, you can run an ecommerce business by using fax, and/or requiring people to send in your checks, but you will be leaving a lot of money on the table if you don't accept credit cards in one form or another. If you are a member, click here to sign in to www.ccqh-leadershipclub.com, Newsletters, and read entire article in the Club Newsletter

Insights To Success:

The Fifth P of Success: Productivity

Tools for Courageous Leadership

Second Tool: Be the Captain of Your Destiny

Set your sails into the direction of your destination, and be the Captain of your destiny.

Every voyage, every journey, and every great work calls for a leader who understands how to arrive at the finish line.  Productivity  in teamwork for any calling or work thrives

on this principle of definiteness.

Productivity calls for order and a clear plan of action. Most organizations that fail lose sight of important elements that are necessary in creating productivity. This tool will allow the natural order of productivity that follows a well-crafted plan to lead your work to fruition. Whether you are leading a team or yourself, you need to be the Captain of your destiny. It may sound simple, yet, so often it is this very lack of leadership that hampers success. Think for a moment about how many major high profile companies have fallen from grace. Would you say that the leaders of these companies were utliizing this tool for productivity? It is easy to fall back, and allow the populus opinion to sway your direction, however, in the long run, this approach will only serve to waste time for the entire organization. It may also cause the management team in-question to lose their position.

In the end, most people can detect insincerity or situations where a leader is not being forthright, and rather, is more preoccupied with peer acceptance. This experience in leadership can become a milestone for someone who is still unsure on what to do next. Just as in family life, it makes no sense for a parent to decide for their children on this opportunity for growth. Modeling servant-based leadership with confidence and surefootedness will provide productivity that results in success for the entire team. Respect slowly materializes once the team believes in the leader.

Tapping into this tool will empower you to become more productive in all areas of focus. Focus is the operative ingredient, in fact, and allows a person to concentrate on the subject at-hand. Once a person is focused on this project, it begins . . . If you are a member, sign in to www.ccqh-leadershipclub.com here to go to Newsletters, and read the entire article in the Club Newsletter

Gardening to Work Smart:

Grow Your Own Seeds

Steve's Tip™: Starting from seed - satisfaction and savings!

Crimson Fancy, sweet cluster, and yellow pear tomatoes. Nu-mex, Keystone Giant, and Fooled You jalapeno peppers. Cool Breeze cucumbers. These varieties may not sound familiar to the backyard gardener—and I've never seen then for sale at the nursery—but that's part of the reason growing your garden stock from seed is an exciting and rewarding.project. Harvesting baskets full of your own produce yields great satisfaction. Just imagine knowing you have started this bounty all the way from nature's tiny seed. Along with the rewards of growing your own plants comes the benefit of saving a bit of money. I've been gardening wih some forty pepper and forty tomato plants for years, and I shudder to think of all the money that I may have spent—and that's only part of what I grow. At two to three dollars per plant, the savings really add up.

First, you must select some seed to start your own crop. Nurseries usually have a bounty of selection, coming in January or February. This is a great place to start with some common varieties. If you want to start by delving into unique and specific types, you may want to go straight for the online catalogs. A couple of my favorites are Totally Tomatoes and Guerneys. After a few years, you will find favorite varieities that you just need to grow year after year. Along with your standards, you can have fun experimenting with new and different strains. I like to grow a minimum of eight different tomatoes and peppers each year.

Germinating the seed will require . . . If you are a member, sign in to www.ccqh-leadershipclub.com and go to the Newsletters to read entire article in the Club Newsletter.
