Bee's Club News:

Hello Club Members!

As we enter into Mid-Spring, we move into the planting and sewing of our ideas and intentions. This is the time for nurturing our creative ideas to see what they will grow into. It is also the time to be conscious of what we plant, so we can harvest what are truly our desires. If we wish to harvest lettuce, then we must make sure we plant lettuce seeds, and not tomato seeds. This is the time of taking our inner reflections from the Winter, and using them to be more aware of what we are planting for the spring...... Some food for thought for everyone.

Now onto the Club News!

•We will be holding our next teleseminar call in June and the lifestyle will be for Family/Plan. We would like your feedback on what you would like to hear! Please go to

and answer the survey question. This is your chance to directly influence what we talk about in the teleseminar! Check the club calendar for the date.

•This month we are hosting another telenetworking event on the 30th! More information will follow.

•CCQH and Mark Spencer are teaming up to promote his safety seminars. Mark will be teaching 4 safety seminars over the next year. These seminars will go over some things you can do that are simple yet very effective to increase your safety, the mindset you should have to increase your safety awareness, along with many other topics. This seminar is perfect for you to bring your friends and family along.

Your Book is Your Baby

By EJ Thornton

Most authors refer to their book as their 'baby' without really realizing how close that comparison really is...

Writing a book is like a pregnancy, long, drawn out and private - only you can do it. It has to grow from the seed of an idea to the actual entity we hold in our hand the first time we see it in print. That first meeting is an incredibly memorable experience! Some people cry, some jump up and down - most just stand in awe that the book is finally real and they can hold it in their hands. Most, women at least, clutch it to their chest and are so proud, they can't hold back the tears.

It's a Book!

It's a Baby!

Now, this book, like a baby, needs to taken to professionals to be 'checked out.' It needs an editor, a baby book doctor, to clean it up, check it out, cure its woes and medicate its weak spots. The editor, like a pediatrician, is on your side and wants what you do - a healthy baby book! Editors can cost you money, but you'd pay a doctor - right? You wouldn't trust your baby's health to an amateur (like your neighbor or your sister - even though they got an "A" in Health), so why would you trust your baby book's well-being to one - if you're smart - you won't

Next, you want to share your baby with others. You want the world to know how great your baby is. This is where most new book parents go wrong.

They think the book can speak for itself, it cannot!

You're going to be working long hours and sacrificing a lot of sleep! Much like a newborn baby is another full time job, so is a newborn book. New parents don't get a lot of rest because the demands of a baby are so intense - it is that way here too. You've taken on another full time job introducing your baby to the world. A press kit needs to be developed, press releases need to be written and sent, If you are a member, click here to sign in to www.ccqh-leadershipclub.com, go to Newsletters, and read entire article in the Club Newsletter

EJ Thornton's Profile

EJ ThorntonEJ Thornton is a well established Colorado author, publisher, speaker, seminar producer, entrepreneur, book distributor and internet marketer. As EJ clearly expresses, "The book is a baby to its author, an addition to the family. No one loves it the way the author does, so to let it out where it can be changed, or taken away for literally years, is hard to accept. The author wants the book close enough to touch. Self-publishing allows the author to keep the work close and safe."

That is why EJ learned how to self-publish and how her first novel Angel On Board became a dream come true. She became a publisher when fellow authors saw the way she did it and they asked her to help them do the same. EJ became the publisher she wished that she could have found. She is now adding seminars, book distribution, and internet marketing to her services.

EJ is a graduate of IBI Colorado Business Program, as well as a liaison member of the CCQH Leadership Club. She resides in Colorado with her family. More information about her company is available at www.profitablepublishing.net..

The Second P of Success: Purpose

Tools for Courageous Leadership

Second Tool: Memory

Herein lies the storage house for all of the events in our lives.

Our personal history serves us through our memory.

Just like a muscle, it gets better with usage and stretching.

Use it or lose it. That is quite simply the bottom line when it comes to this tool of the mind. Our memory will carve the way for our purpose. So the saying goes, "if you don't know where you came from, how would you know where you are going?"

How powerful this tool of the mind is for human beings. Think about it. It is such a brilliant gift of resourcefulness from our Creator that it has become the blueprint from which computer technology has orginated today. In fact, nowadays the word may equally trigger a conceptual association with memory chips for computers rather than your human memory. So how do we harness this tool of memory in carving our purpose in life which is seeded in our spiritual passion? Let's explore this opportunity further. We'll cover why and how our memory can serve us as a tool for courageous leadership.

Why is memory so valuable to achieving our purpose?

If our memory is the recall of past thoughts, this naturally includes experiential living as well as conceptual thoughts that we have either studied or reflected uoon in our past. Many experts talk about our paradigms which would be past thoughts that build upon a specific belief that we have about ourselves or our relationship with that particular belief system. Let's keep it simple in this article, and explore the notion of thought associated with purpose.. If we desire to move our passion into true purposeful living, we need to rely upon our ability to focus on creating the habits in our daily lives that will transform our purpose into power. We become what we think about, so, in turn, we rely upon our memory of each day to drive and steer us in the right direction for the next day. That insight cues us about how powerful our thoughts are in creating our purpose every day. Guard your thoughts from disservice as tenderly as you would your outdoor gardens from weeds. In that state of mindfulness, we can act accordingly to harness our memory in a constructive manner. We can begin to tap into this tool each day to remind us of the proper choices we would like to take in actualizing our purpose. Compare memory to a roadmap that reminds you of the direction you have taken thus far, guiding you clearly along your daily journey toward your purpose.

How do we tap our memory in achieving our purpose?

Comfort food for the Mind: Nostaligic Gardening

Steve's Tip™:  Members, Read in the Club Newsletter.

A popular practice for we humans is to find comfort in memories of childhood and years gone by. Many dog owners choose the same type of breed that their family had when they were growing up. Many of the hobbies that we enjoy have their roots in our childhood and adolescent years. Call it habit, call it nostalgia, we like to hold on to things that remind us of pleasant experiences in life. For me, cultivating plants that I was around as a child gives me the same satisfaction, and warm and fuzzies. I decided to cultivate some of these plants from my childhood once I established myself here in Colorado.

My cousin Tim and I became very familiar with the plants in my grandparents' grounds while spending part of summer break with them. There were the flowing colorful vines of sweet pea, growing on the garden fence. A huge patch of Chinese lantern plants, adorning the plot next to the porch. I also remember the money plants and pussy willow bushes on the side of the house. I also fondly recall the vases of dried versions of these plants that my grandmother liked to have throughout the house.

I cherish the memory of the rose of Sharon bush, growing by the chimney at the side of the house back at my childhood home in Cleveland. In those days during Springtime, I was always fascinated with the brilliant yellow display of blossoms on our forcithia bush. Once I moved to Colorado, I knew I had to grow these plants at my home here.

This truly has been a lot of fun for me, and it can be for you, too. Search your memory for fond experiences, and remember what the scenery was like. You too can re-create the setting of those memories by doing a little cultivating of your own.

Here's a little roadmap to getting started with your nostalgic garden: If you are a member, sign in to www.ccqh-leadershipclub.com and go to the Newsletters to read entire article in the Club Newsletter.
